The purpose of the Frisco Garden Club is to promote an interest in gardens, their design and management to cooperate in the protection of wild birds, wildflowers and native plants, and to encourage civic plantings.
The club partners with the City of Frisco Parks and Recreation and Natural Resources Dept. to provide and teach adults and children about our mission through education and fun activities, Heritage Center plantings, Veterans, Boys and Girls Club of Collin County. We partner with City Council and our Mayor, Frisco Fire and Police Departments to provide the City Wide 911 Remembrance Ceremony, Memorial Day Observance and participate and support the VFW and American Legion in Frisco. We hold an annual fundraiser in the Spring each year to raise funds for Scholarships to H.S. Seniors who are studying some form of Horticulture, Environment or Landscape Architect.
Monthly Meetings with a Speaker on various topics such as container gardening, gardening beds, bee keeping, gardening for birds, raised bed vegetable gardening, recycling, day lilies, urban wildlife, floral arranging and herbs in the kitchen.
We like to do outreach in the community by having a Plant Swap at the Frisco Public Library several times a year in the evening.
We hold an annual clothing/food/gift card drive for veterans in need.
