Frisco Welcomes 350 New Teachers to the Community
The energy inside Panther Creek High School was unmistakable as approximately 350 of Frisco ISD’s newest teachers gathered for the Frisco Chamber of Commerce New Teacher Welcome, presented by CoServ.
Some are beginning their first year in the classroom. Others bring years of experience but are new to Frisco ISD. And some had even been students in Frisco ISD classrooms and returned as teachers. Wherever they are in their careers, the morning offered one clear message: Frisco is excited they are here.
A Warm Welcome From the Business Community
New Teacher Welcome is one of our favorite events of the year because it gives our business community the opportunity to celebrate the educators who will soon be teaching, encouraging, and inspiring Frisco ISD students.
Nearly 60 local businesses and organizations filled the school’s gymnasium, welcoming teachers with giveaways, helpful resources, and plenty of Frisco spirit. Universal Kids Resort even brought Gabby for a photo opp, adding another fun surprise to the morning.
The teachers left with bags full of swag, but more importantly, they experienced firsthand how strongly Frisco’s business community supports public education.
“The teachers we welcome today will help shape Frisco’s future for years to come,” said Christal Howard, President and CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “It is inspiring to see our business community come together to celebrate these educators and demonstrate that Frisco is a community where education and business work hand in hand to support student success.”
Celebrating Frisco ISD’s Newest Educators
Following the vendor showcase, teachers heard from Frisco ISD Superintendent Dr. Todd Fouche; Frisco ISD Board of Trustees President Keith Maddox; Stephani Mohon of CoServ; Frisco Mayor Mark Hill; and Representative Matt Shaheen.
Dr. Fouche brought even more energy to the room with a spirited roll call, inviting the new high school, middle school, and elementary school teachers to compete for the loudest welcome. As usual, the elementary educators proved tough to beat, although the high school group was given a chance to improve its score with a retest.
The friendly competition filled the room with cheers and gave everyone a glimpse of the enthusiasm these educators will soon bring to their campuses.
Strong Schools Help Build a Strong Community
Mayor Hill offered a unique perspective as a former Frisco ISD trustee, the parent of a Frisco ISD student, and Frisco’s newly elected mayor. He shared that while recently giving a business leader a tour of Frisco, the conversation quickly turned to the quality of Frisco ISD. His story reinforced an important truth: exceptional schools play a critical role in attracting families, businesses, and investment to our community. “Frisco’s success has always been rooted in lasting partnerships between the city, its schools, and the business community,” Hill shared.
That partnership was on full display throughout the morning. Our teachers help prepare the next generation of employees, entrepreneurs, innovators, and community leaders. Supporting them is not only an investment in education. It is an investment in Frisco’s future workforce and continued success.
