To provide 90-day short-term emergency transitional housing and comprehensive support services that empower individuals and families to regain stability, achieve self-sufficiency, and build a brighter future.
Every night, more than 500,000 Americans experience homelessness, and many are families struggling to find a safe place to stay[1]. For these individuals, the lack of stable housing isn’t just a challenge—it’s a crisis. Heather’s House of Hope, Inc. addresses this pressing issue by providing 90-day short-term emergency transitional housing, designed to offer more than just a roof over one’s head. Our comprehensive approach includes programs that go beyond basic shelter, focusing on mental wellness, financial literacy, health, and life skills that empower participants to rebuild their lives and achieve lasting stability.
Operating in Frisco, Celina, Prosper, and Dallas, Heather’s House of Hope is a beacon for low-income families, homeless couples, and single parents with children. While living in our facilities, residents have access to a variety of programs tailored to their unique needs, such as agricultural gardening, equestrian therapy, sports camps, and computer labs. These initiatives are crafted to not only provide immediate relief but also to equip our participants with the skills and confidence they need to thrive independently.
Heather Sullivan, our Executive Director, brings over 20 years of experience as a business owner and has been mentoring women since 2008. Her passion for helping others and her hands-on leadership are the driving forces behind our mission to create pathways for success. With a dedicated team, including Director Devin Wyman and Secretary Brian Sullivan, Heather’s House of Hope is committed to making a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
Despite our successes, like helping families transition from displacement to independence, the challenge of securing specific grants for land and housing persists. Expanding our resources would enable us to reach even more families in need, providing the stability and support they require to break the cycle of homelessness. As we look to the future, our goal is to continue offering innovative and effective programs that empower individuals to reclaim their lives and build a brighter, more secure future.
Heather’s House of Hope, Inc. offers a diverse range of programs and services designed to address both the immediate and long-term needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. At the core of our offerings is our 90-day short-term emergency transitional housing program, which provides participants with safe and stable shelter as they work to rebuild their lives. However, housing is only the first step in our holistic approach to addressing homelessness. Our comprehensive programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant, equipping them with the tools they need to achieve self-sufficiency.
One of our primary services is mental wellness support, which includes access to counseling and therapy services aimed at helping participants address the emotional and psychological challenges that often accompany homelessness. In addition to mental health resources, we offer financial literacy workshops, teaching participants essential skills such as budgeting, saving, and managing debt. These workshops are designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence they need to take control of their financial futures.
We also provide a variety of vocational training and mentorship opportunities, helping participants develop marketable skills and connect with potential employers. These programs are crucial in helping individuals secure stable employment, which is often a key factor in preventing future homelessness. Additionally, our life skills training program teaches practical skills such as cooking, cleaning, and time management—skills that are essential for maintaining stability once participants transition out of our housing program.
Unique to Heather’s House of Hope is our agricultural gardening and equestrian therapy programs. These innovative services not only provide therapeutic benefits but also teach valuable skills that can lead to employment opportunities in related fields. The agricultural program allows participants to grow their own food, promoting sustainability and self-reliance, while the equestrian therapy offers emotional and physical healing through interaction with horses.
Through these and other services, we aim to provide a well-rounded support system that addresses the root causes of homelessness and empowers individuals and families to build a brighter future.
