A Rising Tide

In Frisco, a place known for its vibrant community spirit, the saying “A rising tide lifts all boats” takes on new meaning, especially when it comes to supporting those who strive to make a difference. The Frisco Chamber Foundation, the 501(c)(3) arm of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, orchestrated a remarkable gathering on March 21, 2024, that underscored this very sentiment.

This initiative, emerging from a strategic vision to bolster community support, marked the inaugural Nonprofit Connect event. It was a morning when the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s headquarters buzzed with an energy that was both inspiring and grounding. Here, Janelle Hail, alongside Kevin Hail and Rebecca Beull, unfolded the narrative of NBCF’s journey, sharing not just the milestones but the hurdles and lessons learned in their pursuit of making a tangible difference.

Connection and Collaboration

But it wasn’t just about sharing stories. It was about forging connections and laying the groundwork for a collaborative future where nonprofit organizations can thrive together. The ‘Mission Moment’—a hands-on session to assemble Hope Kits—was a reminder of the collective power harnessed when individuals come together for a cause.

Feedback gathered from the attendees showed the eagerness for more such gatherings, signaling a promising future for the Nonprofit Connect initiative.

Nonprofit Database

In 2022, as part of the strategic plan initiative, the Frisco Chamber of Commerce created a Nonprofit database to allow businesses and individuals to find a singular place where those seeking to volunteer, serve, or donate could easily locate local nonprofit organizations. In addition to the database and the Nonprofit Connect events, the long-term goal is to hold a Nonprofit Summit further to connect the business community with local nonprofit organizations.
