Frisco Prepares to Open Vaccine Hub First Week in February

Please see the following announcement from the City of Frisco.

(January 29, 2021) The City of Frisco is preparing to open a vaccine hub next week after the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) approved 7,800 doses of the Pfizer vaccine be allotted to the city.
“We’re grateful to the state and happy to be awarded the vaccines so our city team can continue our efforts to help keep the public healthy,” said Mayor Jeff Cheney. “We’ve had an internal Vaccine Team in place since the beginning of January, anxiously waiting for a green light. Our city team gained a great deal of experience from hosting a successful testing site since August.  We’re looking forward to vaccinating as many folks as possible.”
Frisco submitted its application to DSHS to become a vaccine hub on January 4. The city’s internal Vaccine Team, lead by the Frisco Fire Department and its Emergency Management Division, was assembled January 5.  Since then, the team has been preparing to host a vaccine site.
“Once we receive the vaccine, we’re prepared to open 24-hours later,” said Chief Mark Piland, Frisco Fire Department.
“Look for online registration to open Monday (February 1) to book appointments,” added Mayor Cheney.
The City of Frisco will use its city newsletter, Focal Point, to notify people when online registration opens for booking appointments.  Follow this link to subscribe or go to e-News or Focal Point web pages.
