Volunteering for 2021 Academic Decathlon

Collin College is once again hosting the Texas Academic Decathlon State Finals Frisco Competition in 2021. Texas is one of the biggest states in the U.S. for Academic Decathlon, and is proud to host one of two Texas State Competitions on our Frisco Campus. The competition will be February 26-28, 2021. As with most of the world during these COVID times, the 2021 State Competition will be virtual. The testing and Super Quiz will be online and there will be no awards banquet as the teams will not be traveling.

Although the Speech and Interview competitions will also be online, this is where we come in to help. We need volunteers to judge Speech and Interview virtually. The time commitment is fairly significant. There will be an online training to do in advance provided by Texas Academic Decathlon. We will then need help on Friday afternoon (February 26th) between 12:45 and about 5:15. While the goal is to finish by about 5:00, there are a lot of moving parts with this event so we can’t promise being done on time. We usually do finish on time, but this year will be the first time doing it online, so we ask for some flexibility. The nice thing is you will be able to do the judging from anywhere. Please only sign up to judge if you are out of high school.
The event could not succeed without large numbers of volunteers, so THANK YOU for signing up.

Time: 12:45pm – 5:15pm CST
