From Weekly Words with Mayor Jeff Cheney:
On Wednesday, Frisco Chamber held their annual State of the City luncheon at Embassy Suites conference center. Each year the current Frisco Leadership Class graduates and walks across the stage to receive their certificates. Congratulations to Leadership Frisco Class 22. Chamber CEO Tony Felker asked me to join the panel the last 10 minutes of the program. He asked what was the single development which has made Frisco what it is today. My answer was the day Frisco hired George Purefoy as City Manager. To think we could hire a young city manager to run a small town of approximately 3000 residents and he could grow and professionally keep pace with the explosive growth is a miracle. I can point to all the landmark events like bringing the mall to Frisco, the Star, attracting UNT and the PGA and all of them have George’s fingerprints all over them. Thank you, George.
