Racing to Support Local

Big things happen in Frisco, and the Rail District Receipt Race is no exception. Through the charitable arm of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, the Frisco Chamber Foundation unveiled the Frisco Rail District Receipt Race—an initiative aimed at boosting foot traffic and supporting businesses in the Frisco Rail District during ongoing construction. This announcement followed the debut of the newly launched Frisco Rail District’s brand identity, a collaborative project that began in April 2024 and was led by Visit Frisco.

A Community-Driven Success

At the 5-Star Annual Awards Gala on February 22, 2025, Frisco Chamber President/CEO, Christal Howard shared with the 700 attendees, “Last September, our Boards pledged $11,000 in prize money to school PTAs willing to encourage their students’ families to continue shopping, dining and spending money in the affected area. We called the challenge the Rail District Receipt Race.”

Before the launch of the Rail District Receipt Race, the Frisco Chamber began working closely with local PTAs and Rail District businesses to ensure that this initiative would bring the community together. The race launched in mid-September 2024 and ran through December 2024. PTAs then counted and turned in receipts.

The Final Tally: A Win for Frisco

“The PTAs came through BIG turning in more than 1,100 receipts, totaling $33,063.82,” Howard said. “And that doesn’t account for future dollars spurred from this as there were… no doubt… people who discovered a new favorite restaurant or shop during this contest.”

The winning PTAs:

$5,000 – Smith Elementary PTA

$3,000 – Cobb Middle School PTA

$1,000 – Bright Academy PTA

$1,000 – Robertson Elementary PTA

$1,000 – Sem Elementary PTA

We’d like to thank all of the participating PTAs and their families and friends for supporting the Rail District during construction. Please keep doing business with these local businesses.
