Frisco Chamber of Commerce Legislative Luncheon – Open and Uncensored: A Real Discussion of Legislative Issues Impacting Frisco and the North Texas Region
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the next event, the Legislative luncheon, which will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:30 AM. The Legislative luncheon, sponsored by CobbFendley and Garver, will be at the Embassy Suites, Dallas-Frisco Hotel, Conference Center & Spa, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:30 AM. Embassy Suites is located at 7600 John Q. Hammons Drive in Frisco, Texas.
NBC 5 Reporter, Julie Fine, will moderate at this event. The panelists include Texas State Representatives, Rep. Pat Fallon
– District 106; Rep. Jeff Leach – District 67; Rep. Matt Shaheen – District 66; and Rep. Ron Simmons – District 65. The panel will also include Mayor Maher Maso, City of Frisco; Chris Wallace, President of Texas Association of Business; and Bennett Sandlin, Executive Director of Texas Municipal League.
“This upcoming legislative session will be unlike any before it. Now, more than ever, different perspectives/groups have differing opinions on key legislative issues facing business AND residents – property tax reform, school finance, transportation,” said Tony Felker, President/CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “This luncheon will be different than any other you have attended as we dig into the various perspectives, ask the tough questions, and find out what are REALLY the key issues and possible solutions and how they will impact ALL of us.”
In January 2017, the Texas Legislature will begin its 85th Session. Expect the panelists at this Legislative luncheon to be asked questions and probed beyond the typical political soundbites on the issues that matter the most to Frisco and to the business community.
The presenting sponsors for this event are CobbFendley and Garver.
“Our legislators will be facing many difficult challenges this upcoming session. The state and our region continue to grow exponentially and with that brings many demands that must be somehow accommodated in our balanced budget. Whether your interests are school finance, transportation or tax reform this panel will have some interesting thoughts on how issues may play out in Austin starting in January. CobbFendley is glad to be a part of such a great and informative event for the region’s business community,” shared J. Cal Bostwick, Senior Vice President, CobbFendley.
“We are pleased to partner with the Frisco Chamber of Commerce to bring together those who make policy decisions for our community,” said Frank McIllwain, Vice President, Garver. “These are both challenging and exciting times that require the partnership and cooperation of our elected officials at all levels.”
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce is pleased to have had a great response from area businesses and residents, and anticipate table sponsorships and individual tickets to sell quickly. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
