Recap Of August 6, 2019 Frisco City Council Meeting

The five items you need to know from the Frisco City Council Meeting:

  1. Several projects associated with supporting the PGA development will have bid openings in August. Contracts will soon be awarded and construction will begin in September at these locations:
    1. Legacy Drive from Rockhill Parkway to US 380
    2. North Teel Parkway from Rockhill Parkway to US 380
    3. Rockhill Parkway and includes the water line from Teel Parkway to North Teel Parkway and from west of Legacy Drive to Mahard Parkway
  2. A number of signals are expected to be operational before start of school or shortly thereafter:
    1. Main and Majestic Gardens – operational
    2. FM 423 and Rockhill – operational this week
    3. Rockhill and Hillcrest – operational next week
    4. Parkwood and Wade – operational by start of school
    5. It was also announced that Legacy and Throne Hall will receive a new traffic light
  3. The Council authorized a design contract for a new park in Frisco Square at Burnham Street and East Library Street, southeast of the City Hall parking garage.
  4. Licenses & permit fee revenues for the city are down compared to last year by 13%
  5. New long range Hike and Bike Plan approved by Council 6-0

For your calendar:

  • The public hearings for City of Frisco, Frisco Economic Development Corporation and Frisco Community Development Corporation on the fiscal year 2020 budget will be called for the August 20 and September 3 Council meetings.
