Frisco ISD Government Affairs is looking for business members in our local community to serve on the FISD Legislative Leadership Committee (LLC). The mission of the LLC is to learn how local, state, and federal government action impacts Frisco ISD; to connect with parents, teachers, administrators, taxpayers, businesses, and students, empowering them to engage with the Frisco ISD community; and to recommend legislative priorities for adoption by the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees.
In addition to developing the district’s legislative priorities, members of the committee are provided with regular legislative updates during the legislative session and will have an opportunity to meet with the Senators and Representatives that represent Frisco ISD. If you’re interested in the relationship between the Texas Legislature and public education in Texas, The LLC could be a great place to serve.
The LLC meets approximately every two to three months on a Tuesday evening for 2 hours. Members serve in two-year terms following the legislative cycle. There are no term limits, but members must reapply every two years.
There are nine positions for members of the business community. If you, or someone you know, are a good fit for this committee, please pass this application along.
The deadline to apply is August 31, 2021, at 5:00 P.M. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
