Friday, August 9, 2019 through Sunday, August 11, 2019, is the annual sales tax holiday for back to school shopping. Consumers will be able to buy most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (sold for less than $100) tax free from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas.
According to the Comptroller’s office, Texas shoppers this year will save an estimated $102.2 million in state and local sales taxes during the sales tax holiday.
