3rd Annual Frisco Chamber of Commerce 5-Star Corporate Challenge Winners
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2017 3rd Annual 5-Star Corporate Challenge on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Dr. Pink Field. The all-day event pitted local businesses against each other in a friendly competition while promoting team-building, business-to-business networking, and corporate wellness. Sixteen teams, made up of 5 females and 5 males each, competed for the ultimate prize – the Chamber Cup!
A portion of the registration fees will benefit the Collin College Foundation and the Frisco Education Foundation. As part of the competition, a food drive benefitting Frisco Family Services brought in almost 2,000 food items. The winner of the Food Drive Competition was Randstad Technologies, who brought in over 400 food items.
Team events included: Quarterback Drills, Field Day Relay, GOAL!, Deck Out Dash, Trike Bike Relay, Basketball Shoot Out, and Tug-of-War. The signature event of the 5-Star Corporate Challenge was the Lip Sync Battle, sponsored by First National Bank Southwest.
The 5-Star Corporate Challenge began as a class project for Leadership Frisco Class XXVIII. Randstad Technologies was the first place winner in 2015 and The Cheney Group won first place in 2016. The first place winner is given the Chamber Cup for the entire year. The Cheney Group had fun posting pictures of the Chamber Cup throughout the year and often took the cup to events. Newly elected Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney, owner of The Cheney Group, coined the phrase “Ultimate Adult Field Day” that the Chamber is now using.
Former Dallas Cowboy, Flozell Adams, presented the awards along with Frisco Chamber of Commerce President Tony Felker. First, Second, and Third Place overall awards were given as well as First Place in each event. Winners were:
- First place – National Breast Cancer Foundation Second place – Randstad Technologies
