Leia's Kids

Mission Statement

Leia’s Kids is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope and joy to children, young adults, and families in the fight against chi

About Us

The organization accomplishes its mission by offering financial grants to ease the burden of medical expenses, hosting family dream parties that create unforgettable memories, organizing Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) mental health retreats to support emotional well-being, raising awareness about childhood cancer, and providing essential resources to guide families through their challenging journeys.

Programs and Services

Financial Grants
Miscellaneous costs of cancer quickly add up and many families are left with no way to pay for them. We help parents cover things like unexpected travel for treatment including clinical trials and child-care.

Mental Heath Retreats
We offer all-inclusive retreats to help cancer patients, ages 17-24, understand the “new normal” of living life with cancer. Attendees can meet other young adults who have the same struggles, they learn how to cope with suffering and changes in their life, and take ownership of their struggles so they can keep living well regardless of your diagnosis.

Advocacy in Action
We actively support and promote key legislation aimed at improving research, treatment, and quality of life for pediatric cancer patients. Notably, Leia’s Kids has championed the Race for Children’s Act, which enhances pediatric cancer research, and the STAR Act, which addresses survivorship, treatment, access, and research.

Leia’s Kids Christmas
Each year Leia’s Kids sponsors 20 families across North Texas with homemade Christmas dinners and gifts.
