To improve the lives of children living in under-resourced communities by focusing on educational, personal, social, and environmental issues.
Kids University is a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in under-resourced communities, particularly those from low-income families, by providing academic and social support through after-school tutoring and enrichment programs. With a curriculum aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards, Kids University’s programs support students in grades K-8 with a strong focus on core subjects such as math, language arts, and reading.
By addressing students’ academic, personal, social, and environmental needs, Kids University empowers youth to realize their full potential, cultivates family and community engagement, and builds pathways to brighter futures.
Our unique PATHWAYS curriculum mirrors classroom learning aligning with TEKs curriculum, offering “hands-on” teaching methods tailored to diverse learning styles. This approach allows Kids University to bridge educational gaps and reinforce school-day learning. In addition to academic support, Kids University prioritizes Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) through our Character Cures and Sanford Harmony programs, promoting character-building, collaboration, and community engagement among students. These SEL programs are integrated into daily activities, fostering emotional resilience and social awareness.
Kids University also offers Family and Community Engagement (FACE) programs, supporting parents and guardians with ESL, GED, financial literacy, and parenting classes, along with community-building events like monthly dinners and Neighborhood Crime Watch initiatives. For a holistic approach, our summer programming provides educational continuity, and our seasonal initiatives, like the Christmas Angels Program and Backpack Campaign, extend vital support to families.
