CenterStage Theatre Works exists to inspire, connect, and empower our community through inclusive, meaningful theatre experiences. We believe in Theatre for All, where every person, regardless of age, background, or ability, can find themselves reflected on stage and welcomed into the creative process. Through dynamic productions, training, and storytelling that resonates across generations, we nurture both emerging artists and engaged audiences. Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of theatre-makers and theatregoers while fostering a more vibrant, connected, and culturally rich Collin County.
CenterStage Theatre Works is a Frisco, Texas nonprofit theatre with 10 years of producing professional, imaginative productions for families, children, and adults across Collin County. In Frisco, CenterStage produces summer programming for young audiences and fall mainstage productions that bring grandparents, parents, and kids together under one roof. Beyond Frisco, CenterStage extends its reach through adult programming throughout the greater Collin County area.
Summer productions have included beloved titles such as Dragons Love Tacos, Miss Nelson Is Missing, The Girl Who Swallowed a Cactus, and Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical, while fall mainstage productions like Elf and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown have delighted multigenerational audiences. CenterStage also commissioned The Adventures of Spectrum Sparks, an original work created specifically for autistic and neurodivergent children and their families, a production that continues to resonate deeply with audiences two years later.
Working in partnership with the City of Frisco and committed to accessibility and inclusion, CenterStage champions the belief that every family (and every adult) in DFW deserves access to live, professional theatre.
In the last few years, some of our theatre program highlights have included:
2025:
Dragons Love Tacos!
Performed at Frisco Discovery Center, this family-friendly play brought the beloved children’s book to life, engaging young audiences and their families with its humor and hilarious message.
The Adventures of Spectrum Sparks
A groundbreaking production commissioned by CenterStage Theatre Works for the City of Frisco, this play was designed specifically for neurodivergent and autistic children. Performed at Frisco Discovery Center, it offered an inclusive theatrical experience that resonated deeply with everyone who sometimes feels that they are different.
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown
It’s a bird! It’s a dog! It’s Charlie Brown and friends in the iconic musical that proves sometimes the smallest moments hold the biggest lessons! Whether it’s Charlie Brown’s eternal struggle to be “good” (and not just the “nice guy who always gets the kite stuck in the tree”), Lucy’s wildly inaccurate “psychiatric help,” or Snoopy’s constant daydreams of world domination (in the form of flying a doghouse, naturally), this show is packed with laughs, heart, and a little bit of existential confusion. This show joyfully reminds us that being “good” means embracing the quirks that make us who we are.
2024:
Miss Nelson Is Missing!
Performed at Frisco Discovery Center, this family-friendly play brought the beloved children’s book to life, engaging young audiences and their families with its humor and heartwarming message.
Alice By Heart
Presented at CenterStage at Fairview Town Center, this Collin County premiere captivated audiences with its immersive staging and imaginative retelling of a story set in 1940 about a young girl who faced loss, grief, death, and learned to overcome with the power of her imagination (and a little help from her favorite book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland). The production was a critical and audience success, showcasing the versatility and depth of our theatre company.
Elf the Musical
Performed at Frisco Discovery Center, this holiday favorite combined professional adult actors with a chorus of local children, and provided a festive and heartwarming experience for audiences of all ages when Buddy the Elf brought the movie to life! Reviewers and patrons adored this production with many asking for us to bring it back year after year!
