Aspiring To Build A Future Where Healthcare Has No Boundaries
A.W.E. (Addressing Wellness and Equity), a youth-led nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a future where healthcare has no boundaries. Our mission centers around promoting mental health equity and raising awareness through impactful projects and events. A.W.E. was founded in 2023 to bridge the gap between underrepresented communities and their access to medical technologies and mental health resources. It is A.W.E.’s goal to empower youth around the globe with the resources and skills to spread awareness of the global health issues present today. By participating in service, fundraising, and advocacy, A.W.E. works towards addressing both wellness and equity worldwide.
In the past year, A.W.E. has organized over 20 events, including a notable collaboration with the American Red Cross, where we launched a mental health campaign that garnered 20,000 impressions. This initiative reached national and international audiences, including advocates in Japan, Puerto Rico, India, Nepal, Germany, Uganda, Italy, and Mexico. Additionally, we’ve contributed to shaping policies within the American Red Cross to prioritize mental health for soldiers and veterans.
Our programs include: PPE and medical supplies program, health and hygiene program, paitent comfort program and mental health program.
Addressing Wellness and Equity was founded by students Lipika Devara, Kripa Kannan, and Celeste Lee with the hope of creating a world where healthcare and medicine is accessible and affordable for everyone.
Witnessing the lack of quality equipment in hospitals, long wait lines, and inability to obtain necessary medical help in a timely manner, we decided to take a stand.
Through our organization, we raise funds, support local club chapters, partake in numerous service programs, and work to create an equitable world. Our founders hope to become medical professionals, furthering healthcare access in remote areas and hard-to-reach communities.
We are so excited to announce a new, recent partnership with ImpAct NGO which is a non-profit organization based in India. ImpAct Foundation is a unique NGO providing social development in India through ensuring people are capable enough in making CREDIBLE FUTURE FOR INCREDIBLE INDIA. ImpAct uses a holistic approach to tackle the social problems in India including Education, Empowerment, Gender Equality, Environment, etc.
We look forward to helping ImpAct by not only raising funds for their project to build a new school but also by sending some of our own A.W.E. volunteers to India sometime soon.
