Receipt Race Returns!

Receipt Race - Summer Edition

The Frisco Chamber of Commerce and Frisco Chamber Foundation are excited to announce the return of the Rail District Receipt Race, an initiative designed to boost foot traffic in Frisco’s Rail District during ongoing construction while supporting local school PTAs. The summer edition runs from May 9 through September 30, 2025, and will award $12,000 in prize money to six local PTAs.

PTAs can win up to $3,000 each by collecting receipts from purchases made at Rail District businesses. Prizes will go to the top three PTAs that collect the most receipts and the top three PTAs that collect the highest dollar amount of receipts during the competition period.

Open for Business

“Main Street may be under construction, but the businesses are open and look forward to welcoming residents and visitors,” said Christal Howard, President/CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “This is about more than shopping—it’s about showing up for our small businesses and empowering our schools at the same time.”

To earn even more points, PTAs are encouraged to organize Spirit Days at Rail District businesses to earn extra points, providing a fun and impactful way to get together with school friends and support local businesses at the same time.

How It Started

The inaugural Rail District Receipt Race awarded over $11,000 to six local PTAs and brought renewed attention to businesses affected by the Main Street construction. “The first round was so rewarding,” Howard said. “Local PTAs collected and turned in over 1,100 receipts, amounting to over $33,000 in value, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. Many residents found new favorite places while exploring the Rail District and have returned to shop and dine. We even had a winning PTA invest their prize money back into a local Rail District restaurant by providing lunch for their teachers.”

Keeping It Going

“Whether it’s a quick coffee run, lunch and shopping with friends, a team-outing, or a car repair—every receipt counts,” Howard said. “Even if you don’t have school-aged children, you’ll likely know a neighbor or colleague who is collecting receipts.”
