Frisco Chamber of Commerce 35th Annual Frisco Number Ones Gala, “The Edge of the Future”
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce honored outstanding businesses, organizations, and citizens at its 35th Annual Frisco Number Ones Gala on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco Hotel, Conference Center & Spa in Frisco. The theme this year, “The Edge of the Future,” celebrated the innovative culture of business in Frisco. This annual event, emceed again this year by Joe Trahan, Sports Anchor/Reporter for WFAA, was attended by over 600 of Frisco’s most influential business and community leaders.
Nominations were accepted for this year’s business awards in October of 2018. Applications were reviewed and judged by a cross-section of Frisco business professionals that comprised the review committee. In addition to the business awards, the Frisco Chamber President and Chair of the Board each honored a business organization or individual that has made a significant difference to the Frisco Chamber of Commerce during the past year. The Frisco Number Ones Award was also presented, recognizing an individual who shows unwavering support of not only the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, but the community as a whole. Three Frisco citizens were also recognized for their commitment to and enhancement of the community – Citizen of the Year, Silver Citizen of the Year, and Spirit of Frisco.
“With such a thriving business community, it is always a pleasure to bring businesses together to celebrate each other’s successes,” said Tony Felker, President and CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “Frisco is fortunate to have such a strong, vibrant business community and bustling economy and this event allows us the opportunity to recognize the many businesses that make Frisco the best place to not only live but to do business in as well!”
“Once again, our goal was to create a unique experience for our guests,” shared Christi Wilson, Director of Events at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “From the energy in the room to the futuristic atmosphere and interactive elements, which included an interactive bar top and a giant “Lite Brite” style screen, contributed to the one-of-a-kind experience.” The evening’s entertainment included an appearance by the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue Dancers.
Even the raffle items donated by the business community were used to create ten unique. Coveted raffle prizes included packages such as a sports fan package, valued at over $7,000, and a $3,000 Stock the Closet package by Nordstrom. The SWAT for a day with the Frisco Police Department and an elegant dinner with Frisco’s Fire Chief and a pink fire helmet were both valued at “priceless.”
