Are You Willing to Invest in Our Future?
For those that know me well, you know I get excited when our business community has the opportunity to help our future workforce improve skills and confidence.
Each year, the Frisco ISD Independent Study & Mentorship (ISM) program holds a Business Symposium. This event allows ISM students across the district to practice networking and interview skills with business community members.
Each time I have participated, I have walked away invigorated by the students I have met. I’ve met students that have blown me away with their accomplishments to date and students that needed a little critique on their handshake or communication skills. In either case, I find this to be one of my favorite events.
The Details
If you can lend a full day or even a half day to participate in the Business Symposium, I strongly encourage you to do so! Trust me when I say, when you meet these impressive students, you’ll note that our future looks pretty bright!
Business community members participate in a meet and greet with Frisco ISD Independent Study & Mentorship program students and then facilitate 15-minute mock interviews where students can practice skills and you can give honest feedback!
The ISM Business Symposium will be held at Panther Creek High School on October 5, 2022. There will be a morning session from 7:30 AM – 11:15 AM (CHS, EHS, HHS, HIS, LSHS, LTHS, PCHS) and an afternoon session from 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM (FHS, LHS, MHS, RHS, WHS).
