Tony Felker, IOM, CCE, Named Chair of West Board of Regents of Institute for Organization Management
A Four-Year Leadership Training Program Produced by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has appointed Tony Felker, IOM, CCE, President and CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, to chair the West Board of Regents. As chair of the board, Felker will help implement the policies created by the Institute’s National Board of Trustees.
“A strong Board of Regents is essential to Institute’s success,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, the U.S. Chamber’s vice president of Institute for Organization Management. “These volunteers drive site attendance, provide recommendations for program improvement, and serve as an on-site resource for Institute participants.”
Since its commencement in 1921, the Institute program has educated tens of thousands of association, chamber, and other nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members, and become strong business advocates.
Institute’s five Boards of Regents serve on behalf of the National Board of Trustees. Each Board of Regents is responsible for recruitment, retention, and marketing of the program nationwide. Each regent is an Institute graduate nominated by their peers and will serve for a designated term of up to two years.
Starting in 2010, Felker has held numerous leadership positions within the Institute program. Felker graduated from West Institute at the Loyola Marymount site in Los Angeles in 2009 and has served on the West Institute Board of Regents since 2014.
“West Institute has been very special to me over the years…from professional development to meeting incredible people to being able to give back to the industry. I have a very special place in my heart for this program and the people involved in it, and it gives me great honor and pleasure to be able to chair West Institute. I would also like to give special thanks to the Frisco Chamber Board of Directors for allowing me to give the time and resources to serve this program. They truly understand the value it has on our community indirectly and to so many in the industry in a direct and immediate manner.”
Institute for Organization Management is the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. It is the premier nonprofit professional development program for association and chamber professionals, fostering individual growth through interactive learning and networking opportunities.
